VALENTINA CAPRINI

GOLDSMITH

FLORENCE

Born in 1982 in Verona (Italy), Valentina Caprini after a Specialization Degree in Semiology, she completed in 2012 her bachelor at Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School in Florence under Ruudt Peters.
Her work is a reflection about the body: can a piece of jewellery give, through the making and wearing of it, a new consciousness about our own physical and inner structure

CREATE AND MAKE HER WORKS IS HER WAY TO MEDITATE

Her research continued with an exchange in 2013 at the Estonian Academy of Arts of Tallinn in the Jewellery and Blacksmithing Department under Tanel Veenre, when she focused once again on the body and her personal awareness.

In the Academy she was also so fascinated by the course on the ancient Filigree, a meditative way of working tiny metal threads, that once back home she specialized in this technique directly from the artisans in Campo Ligure, Genova (Italy).

For Art! Gosh! Valentina proposes a reinterpretation of pasta called “sorprese all’uovo”, realizing the silver earrings with a hint of pink Himalayan salt.
